Discovering Corvara

Located at the foot of the impressive Sassongher, Corvara is the beating heart of Alta Badia and the oldest tourist center in the valley. Since the 18th century, this charming alpine village has captivated visitors with its breathtaking landscapes and authentic Ladin atmosphere. In 1946, the first chairlift in Italy was built right in Corvara, marking the beginning of a long tradition of mountain tourism.

During winter, Corvara is a must-visit destination for lovers of snow sports in the Dolomites. Alpine skiing takes center stage thanks to the slopes of the Ski Area Alta Badia and the direct connection to the famous Sellaronda, a ski route that crosses four Dolomite passes in a single day. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts can explore scenic trails through snow-covered forests, including the famous route to the stunning Pisciadù waterfall.

With the arrival of summer, Corvara transforms into a paradise for hikers, bikers, and golfers. Popular trails include the Pralongià plateau, Sassongher peak, and the panoramic Piz Boè, offering spectacular views over the UNESCO Dolomites. Mountain biking fans can tackle the famous Dolomite passes of Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, and Pordoi, all easily accessible from Corvara. Every year, the Sellaronda Bike Day takes place, an event where roads are closed to traffic so cyclists can safely enjoy breathtaking panoramas. Just a few kilometers from the center, a 9-hole golf course offers relaxation immersed in pristine nature.

For accommodation, Corvara offers a wide range of options: hotels with spas, cozy traditional B&Bs, and centrally located apartments. Restaurants, mountain huts, and traditional venues ensure pleasant evenings filled with Ladin cuisine and warm hospitality.
