Discovering Passo di Cereda

Passo di Cereda, located at 1,369 meters above sea level in the heart of eastern Trentino, connects the Val di Primiero with the Val del Mis, offering a genuine alpine retreat immersed in peace and greenery. Surrounded by the rugged peaks of the Cimonega Group and the spectacular Pale di San Martino, it is part of the renowned Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Nature Park, offering pristine landscapes, biodiversity, and hiking opportunities for all levels.

During the winter months, the Pass becomes a small hub for cross-country skiing enthusiasts, with over 10 km of certified trails, some lit for night skiing. There are also slopes for alpine skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing, ideal for families and those seeking a slower-paced snow holiday. In summer, the Pass serves as a starting point for excursions such as the trail to Malga Fossetta, the panoramic Alta Via No. 2 of the Dolomites, and nature hikes exploring the Forcella d’Oltro and Passo del Palughét.

The Agriturismo Broch, with its educational farm, and the Rifugio Cereda offer warm hospitality and traditional Trentino cuisine made with local zero-kilometer ingredients, including tosèla from Primiero and artisan speck.

Completing the experience, the alpine Chapel of Sant’Antonio da Padova, built in 1913, preserves the spiritual soul of the area, while historic mining trails and traditional mountain huts (masi) tell the story of the Ladin and rural heritage of this land.
