Discovering Passo di Brocon

Passo di Brocon, located at 1616 meters between the Tesino Plateau and the Vanoi Valley, lies within the Lagorai mountain range and offers breathtaking views of the Pale di San Martino, the Marmolada, and the Feltrine Peaks.

In winter, it is an ideal destination for skiing and snow activities thanks to the Funivie Lagorai ski area, which features 12 km of slopes for alpine skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing.

In summer, the pass becomes a paradise for hikers and bikers. The famous Trodo dei Fiori is one of Italy’s most fascinating botanical trails, with over 300 alpine species and historic trenches dating back to World War I. The Trodo delle Malghe and the trails leading to Cima d’Asta, Monte Agaro, and Col del Boia offer immersive experiences through high-altitude pastures, silence, and pristine nature.

From June to September, the malghe (mountain huts) host grazing cows and produce fresh and aged cheeses such as Trentingrana, Asiago, ricotta, and tosella, which can be purchased directly on site. Some huts participate in the Adopt a Cow project, allowing visitors to receive dairy products in exchange for a summer visit.

The pass also holds historical significance: the Passo Brocon road was built in 1908 by the Austrian Empire for military purposes, and along the trails, you can still find bunkers and mule tracks carved by Austro-Hungarian troops.

Passo di Brocon is easily accessible from Castello Tesino, Canal San Bovo, and the Valsugana.
