Discovering Capriana

At 1008 meters above sea level, Capriana is the smallest and most secluded municipality in Val di Fiemme, nestled within the Monte Corno Nature Park, near the border with Val di Cembra. This Trentino village is an ideal destination for those seeking peace, unspoiled landscapes, and a deep connection to alpine tradition.

The historic center preserves the typical architecture of Trentino valleys, with stone houses, flower-filled balconies, and ancient churches. Among them stands the Church of Saints Bartholomew and Lazarus, dating back to 1216, and the Meneghina Mill Museum, dedicated to Maria Domenica Lazzeri, known as “L’Addolorata,” a mystical figure from the 19th century currently in the process of beatification.

Capriana is a paradise for hiking enthusiasts: the European E5 Trail crosses the area and leads to Prati del Toro, Lago Bianco, Lago Nero, and the summit of Monte Corno. These trails offer breathtaking views of the Trentino Dolomites and the Avisio Valley, with routes suitable for all experience levels.

Local culture is expressed through events, festivals, and a strong sense of community. Traditional crafts and rural activities keep the region’s heritage alive. The nearby Val di Cembra, with its terraced vineyards, enriches the local food and wine scene: canederli, polenta, malga cheeses, speck, and apple strudel are highlights in mountain huts and farm stays.
