Discovering Campodenno

Located on the right bank of the Noce River, between the striking Gola della Rocchetta and the green Cles plain, Campodenno is one of the most charming villages in the Lower Val di Non. Nestled in a sunny and panoramic position, surrounded by fruit orchards—especially apple trees—it is the ideal destination for those seeking tranquility, fresh air, and an authentic Alpine atmosphere.

The historic center features several old homes with rustic-noble architecture, a distinctive trait of the area. Notable examples include Casa Sicher, Casa De Campi, and Casa Oliva, fine expressions of mountain noble residences. Also worth visiting is the parish church of San Martino, overlooking the village, and in the hamlet of Segonzone, the beautiful Romanesque church of Saints Philip and James, first mentioned in 1485, with frescoes attributed to the famous Baschenis, itinerant painters of the 15th century.

Just outside the village, surrounded by a conifer forest, stands the impressive Castel Belasi, a medieval fortress built in the 12th century, recently restored and now used for exhibitions, cultural events, and guided tours.

For nature lovers, a short 30-minute hike leads to the ancient church of San Pancrazio, perched on a wooded rocky hill, once home to a hermit. Today, it offers a peaceful setting with a breathtaking view over the valley.
