Lake Carezza – also known as Karersee or Lec de Ergobando – is a precious gem nestled in the Dolomites of South Tyrol, within the scenic Val d’Ega. While the so-called “Upper Lake of Carezza” is not officially distinct from the main basin, the surrounding area reveals breathtaking views and a fairy-tale atmosphere that enchants every visitor.
Perched at 1,534 meters above sea level, the lake is famed for its iridescent waters, shifting from emerald green to deep sapphire blue. These hues reflect the majestic Latemar peaks and the dense red spruce forests around it.
