Passo Sella (in German Sellajoch, in Ladin Jëuf de Sela) is one of the most fascinating and beloved destinations in the Dolomites, located on the border between the provinces of Trento and Bolzano. This famous alpine pass separates the Sassolungo Group from the Sella Group and connects the Val di Fassa with Val Gardena along the renowned state road 242, also famous for the Giro d’Italia cycling race.


The view from Passo Sella is unique: the towering Sella Towers, the Mesules ridge, and the majestic Sassolungo, which rises up to 3,181 meters, dominate the horizon, offering breathtaking scenery for hikers, climbers, and tourists.


In every season, Passo Sella is an ideal destination for mountain lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts. In summer, the area offers numerous activities such as hiking, mountaineering, cycling, and mountain biking. Trails suit all levels, from easy walks to challenging routes like the famous Sassolungo hike, an 8 km path that circles around the mountain. The area is also famous for the City of Stones, a natural area with a maze of rocks popular for sport climbing. Nearby via ferrata routes provide unforgettable experiences on rock and nature.


In winter, Passo Sella becomes a hub for skiing enthusiasts with direct access to the Dolomiti Superski area and the Sellaronda ski circuit. Besides alpine skiing, visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and ice skating.
