Discovering Pfalzen

Located along the Strada del Sole in Val Pusteria, Falzes is a charming mountain village combining tranquility, sunshine, and a wide range of activities for the whole family. The town is perfect for pleasant walks and summer hikes through traditional farmhouses, alpine pastures, and scenic peaks, and it also offers guided thematic trails, such as the one dedicated to “The Stones Tell Stories”. Nordic walking enthusiasts and hikers seeking more challenging routes will find the perfect starting point here, including the famous Alta Via di Fundres, which ends in Falzes.


History and culture come alive in the town’s small treasures: the San Valentino Chapel, built in late Gothic style with a pointed arch portal, ogival windows, and star-shaped vaulting, consecrated in 1434, was a pilgrimage site during rogation days and harvest celebrations. Alongside local traditions and pine needle distilleries, visitors can explore herb gardens and cultural spaces.


For families, Issengo features a beautiful swimmable lake with equipped beaches and an entertaining summer program. Nearby is the Kronaction Outdoor & Fun Park, the largest adventure park in South Tyrol, with over 100 stations and 8 different trails. Children can also enjoy the playground, mini zoo, and riding stables in the town center.


In winter, Falzes becomes a snowy paradise: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, walks in fresh snow, and a sledding track on Monte Capolino illuminated until 10 p.m. Ice lovers can enjoy skating at the sports center, with skate rental and ice bowling.
