Discovering Fensterle

Fensterle is a little-known but highly charming alpine pass located in the heart of the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park, in South Tyrol, at approximately 2,200 meters above sea level. It’s an ideal destination for experienced hikers seeking peace, untouched landscapes, and remote trails.

The path to Fensterle winds through larch forests, high alpine meadows, and rocky sections, offering stunning views of surrounding peaks such as the Große Löffler, the Hochgall, and the Rieserferner Group. The route is demanding but rewards visitors with an authentic nature experience in the wild mountain scenery of the Eastern Alps.

Nearby villages like Riva di Tures and Campo Tures invite travelers to explore South Tyrolean culture, with rural architecture, local craftsmanship, and traditional cuisine. The region is rich in mountain huts and alpine farms, perfect for a tasty break featuring speck, alpine cheese, and apple strudel.
