Discovering Pfoi Sattel

The Pfoi Sattel, also known as Forcella di Foi, is a little-known yet deeply captivating alpine saddle located at 2,523 meters in the stunning Gsies Valley (Valle di Casies), South Tyrol. This high-altitude pass is a dream destination for experienced hikers and nature lovers seeking authentic mountain adventures far from the more crowded Dolomite trails.

The route to Forcella di Foi winds through larch forests, peaceful alpine meadows, and traditional mountain huts, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and the valley below. In summer, the landscape bursts with alpine colors and the scent of wild herbs, while in winter it becomes a starting point for snowshoeing and ski touring.

Its proximity to the Gsieser Törl and Monte Ripa allows for extended hikes through pristine alpine terrain, where the Tyrolean heritage remains strong and visible. The Gsies Valley, with its charming villages, farming traditions, and welcoming alpine huts serving high-quality local products, frames this experience with genuine hospitality.

Pfoi Sattel is the perfect choice for those who embrace slow travel, authentic mountain life, and the discovery of untouched corners of the South Tyrolean Dolomites. A place to experience nature at its purest, where every step reveals a new story carved into the landscape.
