Discovering Voltago Agordino

Voltago Agordino is a sunny panoramic balcony in the heart of the Dolomites, lying at the foot of the majestic Agner – Croda Granda group, among the most famous peaks of the Pale di San Martino. From here, the view embraces the entire Conca Agordina, with spectacular glimpses of the mountains belonging to the 3rd official UNESCO Dolomites system (Pale di San Martino, San Lucano, Vette Feltrine and Bellunesi Dolomites).

The municipality includes two main villages: Voltago (Oltàch) and Frassenè (Farsenèch), just a few kilometers apart and surrounded by forests. At 1,100 meters above sea level, Frassenè is a popular destination for hikers: the starting point of the famous Stella Alpina via ferrata, the climbing walls Spiriti dell’Aria, and the access to Monte Agner, known as the Giant of the Dolomites. Many hiking trails start here, such as the Miniussi Trail, the Col di Luna loop, and the CAI 769.

The village also preserves the charming Church of San Nicolò da Bari, next to the new parish church. Don’t miss the Troi de le Berte, a thematic trail dedicated to legends and stories of the valley, and the Giro de le Zime, a 4.5 km family-friendly circular route through woods, streams, and historic hamlets, always framed by the Dolomite peaks. For expert hikers, the ascent to Rifugio Scarpa offers an unforgettable experience in direct contact with the essence of the Dolomites.
