Discovering Bocchetta dei Due Denti

The Bocchetta dei Due Denti, located at an altitude of 2,859 metres, is one of the most spectacular mountain passes in the Brenta Dolomites. This narrow alpine gap lies between the iconic spires known as the Due Denti, offering breathtaking views over the Val d’Ambiez and the surrounding vertical rock faces. It is a popular destination for experienced hikers and climbers following the famous Via Ferrata Ettore Castiglioni, the southern section of the legendary Sentiero delle Bocchette.

The route to the Bocchetta begins at Rifugio Silvio Agostini (2,405 metres) and crosses a stunning high-alpine landscape with dolomite rock, scree slopes and equipped sections featuring cables, ladders and exposed ledges. The well-maintained via ferrata requires solid technical skills, no fear of heights, and proper gear: helmet, harness and via ferrata kit are essential.

The view from the Bocchetta is truly rewarding: it overlooks the Conca d’Ambiez, the Vedretta di Prato Fiorito and the dramatic rock amphitheatre that surrounds the area. Hikers can continue across to Rifugio XII Apostoli or include this pass in a longer trek along the Bocchette route.

Best tackled between June and September, when conditions are favourable, the Bocchetta dei Due Denti offers an unforgettable experience for lovers of panoramic mountaineering and high-altitude adventure. It’s a place where the mountains reveal their most authentic and wild character — amid silence, vertical rock, and a deep sense of freedom.
