Discovering Fiavè

Fiavè is a charming village in the Giudicarie Esteriori region of Trentino, nestled on a moraine plateau between Lake Garda and the Brenta Dolomites, at around 650 meters above sea level. Surrounded by peat bogs, forests, and alpine meadows, Fiavè offers the perfect setting for hiking, trekking, and slow tourism.

Fiavè is renowned for its extraordinary pile-dwelling site, dating back to the Bronze Age and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Within the Provincial Nature Reserve of Fiavè’s Peat Bog, visitors can explore the immersive Archeo Natura Park, featuring reconstructions of prehistoric stilt villages and interactive educational workshops. The nearby Fiavè Pile-Dwelling Museum showcases original artifacts and tells the story of ancient communities that once lived along the shores of the former Lake Carera.

Among the local highlights is Castel Campo, a medieval manor surrounded by woodland, once sacred to the god Silvanus and documented as early as 1163. In the hamlet of Ballino, the evocative Camerona Cave hosts cultural events in summer and offers a sensory experience of light and shadow.

Fiavè also has deep roots in agricultural and dairy traditions: the Milk Trail connects the village to nearby hamlets and illustrates the rural economy once based on alpine cheeses and high-quality milk.

Fiavè is the ideal destination for those seeking an authentic experience of the Trentino Dolomites, where history, nature, and local heritage come together in harmony.
