Discovering Brentonico

Brentonico, lying on the Monte Baldo Plateau, is one of the most charming destinations in Trentino, thanks to its perfect balance of nature, culture, and sport, with views stretching from Lake Garda to the Brenta Dolomites.

The village, located at about 700 m above sea level, is the gateway to the Monte Baldo Nature Park, known as the “botanical garden of Europe” for its extraordinary variety of alpine and Mediterranean flora. Walking through the historic center, visitors encounter elegant palaces and the renowned Palazzo Eccheli-Baisi, now home to the Fossil Museum and a botanical garden. Also worth visiting are the evocative Parco del Palù, with its centuries-old poplars, and the ancient medieval churches that tell the story of the area.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find a wide network of trails for trekking and MTB, historical routes linked to the First World War, and panoramic hikes to Monte Altissimo and Vignola, offering some of the most spectacular views over Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. In winter, the nearby resorts of Polsa and San Valentino provide family-friendly ski slopes, snowshoeing routes, and winter activities.

Local gastronomy enriches the experience with traditional Trentino dishes and wines from the Vallagarina. Thanks to its proximity to Rovereto and easy access from the Brenner motorway, Brentonico is an ideal base for exploring Trentino and Lake Garda.
