Discovering Preore

Nestled in the Giudicarie Esteriori, just a few kilometers from Tione di Trento, Preore is a charming village in Trentino rich in history, tradition and natural beauty. Located at 600 meters above sea level along the Sarca River, it’s an ideal destination for those seeking peace, hiking opportunities and cultural depth.

Once the administrative center of the valley, Preore was home to the Vicar of the Prince-Bishop of Trento and the Giudicarie court in the 15th century. The historic Old Town Hall, with its civic tower and 1830 clock, reflects the village’s autonomous past. Preore is also part of the ancient Regola di Spinale e Manez, a collective land management institution founded in 1377 that still oversees forests and pastures.

Among its religious landmarks are the Parish Church of Saint George, featuring valuable frescoes and sacred art, and the Church of Saint Roch, surrounded by greenery. The village is also the birthplace of Filippo Serafini, a renowned jurist and senator of the Kingdom of Italy.

Preore is a gateway to excursions toward Monte Amolo and Passo Daone, but its most unique attraction is the Art-Pinistico Trail of Le Niere—a circular route combining trekking, climbing and contemporary art. Along the way, visitors encounter wooden sculptures by local artists, equipped sections and a suspended Tibetan bridge, suitable even for families with children.

Preore is a year-round destination where nature, history and creativity blend into an authentic alpine experience.
