Discovering Carisolo

Carisolo, gateway to the wild Val Genova and heart of the Val Rendena, is an ideal destination for those seeking unspoiled nature, Alpine culture, and outdoor sports among the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. At 801 meters above sea level, the village is surrounded by forests and peaks that offer spectacular views in every season.

Cultural highlights include the Church of Santo Stefano, decorated with frescoes by Simone Baschenis and perched on a rocky spur above the Sarca River, the Church of San Nicolò with its sacred artworks, and the hermitage of San Martino, a small white chapel set into the cliffs of Monte Lancia. The historic center, with its narrow lanes, stone and wooden houses, and living traditions, reflects the valley’s ancient heritage.

The Val Genova is famous for its waterfalls, especially the scenic Nardis and Lares Falls, easily reached by short walks and hiking trails. In summer, visitors can enjoy trekking, mountain biking, and via ferrata routes, while in winter Carisolo offers a floodlit cross-country ski trail connecting to Pinzolo, Giustino, and Caderzone. Just minutes away are the ski lifts of Pinzolo–Doss del Sabion and the vast Madonna di Campiglio–Folgarida–Marilleva ski area, among the most renowned in the Alps.

The gastronomy of the Val Rendena enriches the experience with mountain cheeses, artisanal cured meats, and traditional Trentino dishes.
