Discovering Bresimo

Nestled in the Val di Non, at the foot of the Maddalene mountain range, the village of Bresimo is one of the most authentic and untouched destinations in Trentino. Located over 1,000 meters above sea level, the municipality includes hamlets like Bevia, Bagni, Baselga, and Fontana, all surrounded by pristine Alpine landscapes. Its strategic position between the Val d’Ultimo and the Val di Rabbi makes it an ideal base for panoramic hikes and nature excursions.

One of the area's highlights is the Castello d’Altaguardia, among the highest fortresses in Trentino (1,274 m), recently restored and accessible via an easy walk. Also noteworthy is the Sanctuary of Santa Maria Assunta in Baselga, a national monument featuring Romanesque and 15th-century frescoes. Bresimo is also known for its iron-rich springs, appreciated since ancient times for their health benefits and tied to a tradition of Alpine thermal wellness.

Outdoor enthusiasts can explore trails leading to Lake Trenta, Monte Pin, and the Bordolona mountain huts, perfect for summer hikes and winter activities like snowshoeing and ski mountaineering. The Trentino cuisine shines in local mountain huts, where visitors can enjoy traditional dishes such as canederli, polenta with stew, farmhouse cheeses, and artisanal cured meats.

Bresimo is the ideal destination for an active, restorative holiday far from mass tourism. A place where nature, history, and Alpine tradition come together in an authentic experience to.
