Discovering Laurein

Located at 1,150 meters above sea level, Lauregno (Laurein in German) is a small mountain village in South Tyrol, nestled in the green landscapes of the Upper Val di Non, near the border with the Ultental. With around 340 inhabitants and an area of 14 km², Lauregno is an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility, scenic hikes and a genuine connection with alpine nature.

The village preserves a strong rural atmosphere, with traditional houses, sloped roofs and decorated facades that reflect its local identity. At the heart of the village stands the Church of San Vito, one of the main cultural landmarks, featuring artistic details and serving as a spiritual and architectural reference point.

Surrounded by larch and spruce forests, alpine streams and flowering meadows, Lauregno is the perfect starting point for hikes to Monte Luco (Laugen), a panoramic peak overlooking the Ultental and offering breathtaking views of the Brenta Dolomites. Local trails also lead to the alpine huts of Cloz, Revò, Castrin and Kessel, ideal for summer walks and high-altitude culinary stops.

In winter, Lauregno transforms into a snowy landscape perfect for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, far from the crowds of larger ski resorts. Its proximity to the Passo delle Palade ensures easy access from both Trentino and South Tyrol.
