Discovering Marling

The village of Marlengo, above Merano, is a true paradise for lovers of walking and nature. Surrounded by lush vineyards and orchards, it offers spectacular views ranging from the peaks of the Ifinger to the vast basin of Merano, and up to the Monzoccolo plateau with its red porphyry rocks.

The hiking trails in Marlengo cater to every pace and level: from the relaxing Sentiero della roggia, one of the longest and most scenic in South Tyrol, perfect for families, to the Alta Via di Marlengo, which offers breathtaking views. For those seeking adventure at higher altitudes, Monte Marlengo and Monte San Vigilio offer routes such as the Sentiero Egger and Sentiero di San Martino, winding through forests and sunny alpine huts where you can enjoy local specialties. The four huts in Marlengo boast the "Pure Quality in the Mountains" recognition, a symbol of authentic South Tyrolean hospitality.

Marlengo is also a paradise for cyclists, with numerous exciting tours for mountain biking and road cycling, from routes in the Val Venosta along the famous Via Claudia Augusta cycle path, to more challenging climbs towards the Stelvio Pass or the Mendel Pass. Here, nature, sport, and tradition merge into a unique experience just a stone's throw from the center of Merano.

During winter, Marlengo does not lose its charm. Thanks to its sunny and sheltered location, the village becomes an ideal starting point for snowshoeing, snowy walks, and winter tours immersed in pristine nature. Its proximity to Merano also makes it easy to reach the area's ski and cross-country skiing trails, such as those in the Merano 2000 ski area, where fun and breathtaking landscapes are guaranteed.
