Discovering Kleines Tor

Kleines Tor, also known as La Portella, is a mountain pass located at 2,374 meters above sea level in the municipality of Terento, in the province of Bolzano, nestled in the heart of the Pfunderer Alps. This scenic pass is a top destination for hikers, forming part of the renowned Pfunderer Höhenweg (High Route)—one of South Tyrol’s most spectacular and untouched alpine trails. Kleines Tor connects the Terento Valley with the Valles Valley, offering breathtaking views of peaks such as Cima di Terento and the Gruppo Mountain.

The trail leading to Kleines Tor winds through pristine landscapes, alpine meadows, historic mountain huts, and glacial lakes. It’s ideal for experienced hikers and lovers of high-altitude trekking, with overnight options at the nearby Tiefrastenhütte mountain hut, reachable in about two hours on foot.
