Discovering Flaggersee

The Flaggersee, also known as Lago di Vallaga, is a spectacular alpine lake nestled among the Sarntal Alps, in the municipality of Varna (Vahrn), South Tyrol. Located at 2,501 metres above sea level, this crystal-clear lake is surrounded by breathtaking scenery dominated by Mount Corno di Tramin (Tagewaldhorn, 2,708 m), offering unforgettable views to anyone who reaches this hidden gem.

The hike to the lake usually starts from Valdurna (Durnholz) in the Sarntal Valley, following panoramic trails across meadows and mountain passes. Nearby stands the Rifugio Forcella Vallaga (Flaggerschartenhütte), a welcoming mountain hut with a stunning view of the surrounding peaks.
