Discovering Tiers
Tires al Catinaccio, nestled in the beautiful Valle di Tires, is one of the three main villages in the Alpe di Siusi holiday area. Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Catinaccio Group, this charming village offers authentic nature experiences in every season.
In summer, Tires is perfect for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, trail running, and mountain running. Trails lead through stunning landscapes to spots like Lake Wuhnleger, where the Catinaccio reflects in the water. At sunset, the famous Enrosadira lights up the Dolomite walls in fiery red and pink — an unforgettable sight.
The village of Tires, between Catinaccio and Sciliar, has ancient roots, evident in its beautiful alpine chapels, expressions of mountain devotion: the Church of San Giorgio in the village center, the late-Romanesque Chapel of San Cipriano, on the site of the old village, and the Chapel of San Sebastiano, built after the 1629–1636 plague. At the entrance to Val Ciamin, the historic Steger Sawmill, one of the last Venetian water-powered mills, tells the story of local craftsmanship.
In winter, a modern cable car connects Tires to the Carezza Dolomites ski area in just 7 minutes — a scenic, sustainable link ideal for skiing, snowshoeing, and winter relaxation. Cross-country skiing trails are also available nearby.
Tires al Catinaccio is the perfect destination for those seeking nature, sport, and tradition in an authentic and breathtaking setting.
