Discovering Pozza di Fassa
Pozza di Fassa, a village in San Giovanni di Fassa, lies in the heart of the Val di Fassa, one of the most scenic areas of the Trentino Dolomites. Surrounded by iconic peaks like the Catinaccio, Vajolet Towers, Sassolungo, and Monzoni, it offers breathtaking views and a genuine alpine atmosphere.
In winter, Pozza is ideal for skiing thanks to the Buffaure ski area, connected to the famous Sellaronda circuit. It features panoramic slopes and one of the longest descents in the valley. The Aloch slope, approved for international competitions, is the only one in the Dolomites reserved for training by Italy’s national alpine ski team and also offers night skiing. Cross-country skiers can enjoy the Marcialonga trail and the Ciancoal loop.
In summer, Pozza is a gateway to hikes and via ferratas leading to mountain huts like Re Alberto, Passo Principe, and Gardeccia, within the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Nature Park. The nearby Val San Nicolò is perfect for family walks among alpine meadows and traditional huts.
Pozza is also known for wellness: the Terme Dolomia spa uses the healing sulfur-rich waters of the Aloch spring, unique in Trentino. Ladin culture is reflected in the alpine architecture, the Church of San Giovanni, and local traditions.
