Discovering Oberer Weisszintscharte

Oberer Weißzintscharte, located at an elevation of 3183 meters in the Zillertal Alps, is one of the most spectacular and remote mountain passes in South Tyrol, surrounded by a pristine glacial landscape. This alpine pass connects the valleys around the Neves Reservoir and serves as a strategic point for mountaineers heading toward iconic peaks such as the Hoher Weißzint (3371 m) and the Hochfeiler (3509 m), the highest summit in the region.

The pass is accessible via high-altitude routes starting from the modern Edelrauthütte (Rifugio Ponte di Ghiaccio), a key base for experienced hikers and climbers.
