Discovering Östliche Möselescharte
If you love the mountains and high-altitude hikes, the Östliche Möselescharte is a destination you shouldn’t miss. Located at 3,240 metres in the Ahrntal Alps, this mountain pass connects the Mühlwald area in South Tyrol with the spectacular ridges of the Zillertal in Austria, offering breathtaking views of the Großer Möseler, the second-highest peak in the Zillertal Alps, and the Turnerkamp.
The pass leads through rocky ridges and glaciers such as the Waxeggkees and Eastern Nevesferner, providing a unique experience for experienced hikers and mountaineers. From here, you can admire the Kleiner Möseler to the west and the Möselekopf to the south, with stunning views over the Ahrntal Valley and surrounding peaks.
The Östliche Möselescharte is ideal for summer crossings on foot or winter ski tours, but it requires experience, preparation and proper equipment. Every step offers new emotions and postcard-perfect views.
