Discovering Antholzerscharte

Antholzerscharte, or Passo di Anterselva, is a breathtaking alpine pass located at 2,830 meters above sea level in the heart of the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park, one of South Tyrol’s most glaciated and pristine protected areas. It connects the Antholz Valley with the Defereggental in East Tyrol, crossing untouched landscapes, alpine lakes, and imposing glaciers.

The Antholzersee (Lake Antholz), South Tyrol’s third-largest lake, is the ideal starting point for high-altitude hikes. A nature trail with 16 educational stations winds around the lake, offering insights into local fauna, flora, and geology. Rare species such as the rock ptarmigan, alpine hare, and Androsace alpina highlight the park’s exceptional biodiversity.
