Discovering Marbelfleck-Scharte

Located in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol, Marbelfleck-Scharte is a little-known but captivating alpine saddle, nestled between the Fanes Dolomites and the Puez-Odle Nature Park. This high-altitude pass serves as a strategic point for experienced hikers and mountaineers seeking panoramic trails and immersive nature experiences far from the beaten path.

The area is characterized by wild landscapes, high-altitude meadows, dolomitic scree slopes, and sweeping views of peaks such as Sass de Putia, Monte Muro, and the Puez Group. Trails crossing the Scharte are often challenging, but reward visitors with deep contact with Dolomite geology, alpine flora, and absolute tranquility.

While there are no permanent settlements or tourist facilities at the saddle itself, nearby mountain huts like Rifugio Genova and Rifugio Puez offer shelter and refreshment for day hikes or multi-day treks. The area is also part of historic and natural routes that traverse the legendary Kingdom of Fanes, rich in Ladin myths and alpine cultural heritage.
