Nestled among the majestic peaks of the Zillertal Alps, this high-altitude crossing—at around 2,400 meters—offers sweeping views of untouched valleys, alpine meadows, and shimmering glaciers.

While not a developed tourist destination, Frankbachjoch is a prime hiking spot, accessible via mountain trails from nearby villages such as St. Johann (San Giovanni) and Luttach (Lutago). It’s often included in multi-day treks or circular routes like the Rieserferner Trail or stages of the Ahrntal High Route, making it a favorite among seasoned hikers.
