Discovering Zambana
Zambana is an agricultural village in the Adige Valley, renowned for its prized White Asparagus of Zambana and its strategic location between Trento and the Paganella Plateau, ideal for hiking, food tourism, and slow travel.
Located in the municipality of Terre d’Adige, just minutes from Trento, Zambana originated as a transit station along the Adige River. Until the 19th century, the river was central to the local economy, later regulated with the diversion of the Noce Stream. In 1955, a landslide destroyed the old settlement, leading to the creation of a new, modern town.
The village is famous for its White Asparagus of Zambana, officially recognized as a Traditional Agri-food Product (PAT). Every spring, the town celebrates this delicacy with the White Asparagus Festival, featuring tastings, local markets, and traditional dishes. The asparagus thrives in sandy, well-drained soils, which enhance its sweetness and tenderness.
Beyond agriculture, Zambana offers outdoor activities such as sport climbing at the local rock wall and scenic walks along the valley’s cycling paths. Its proximity to the Paganella, the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, and Lake Molveno makes it an ideal base for excursions and day trips.
Zambana is an authentic destination for those seeking nature, tradition, and local flavors, perfect for food lovers and anyone wanting to explore Trentino in a genuine, heartfelt way.
