Discovering Vermiglio

Vermiglio, nestled in the high Val di Sole, is an ideal destination for those looking for nature, sport and history. The municipality of Trentino also includes the hamlet of Passo del Tonale, once on the border between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Italy. Today it houses the Monument to the Fallen of the First World War, a living memory of a past that is also told through two important cultural places: the Forte Strino, historic Austro-Hungarian fortification, and the White War Museum, with original finds and memorabilia from the Alpine front.

In summer, Vermiglio is a paradise for trekking and hiking lovers. Among the most popular proposals: the ascent of medium difficulty to the panoramic Rifugio Denza, at the foot of the Presanella group. A walk along the new cycle-pedestrian trail, which from Laghetti di San Leonardo crosses the entire Val di Sole to Mostizzolo.

In winter, the landscape turns into an oasis for snow sports. Cross-country skiers will find perfectly snow-covered trails in Volpaia, Stavel and Velon. For ski mountaineering, the ascent to Malga Savaiana is not to be missed, while those who love walking in the snow can venture on snowshoes along the snowy trails of Velon. A few minutes away, the Skiarea Pontedilegno-Tonale completes the offer with alpine ski slopes for all levels.
