Discovering Passo di Valles
At 2,032 meters above sea level, Passo di Valles is one of the most spectacular alpine passes in the Dolomites, located between Trentino and Veneto, in the heart of the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Nature Park. Connecting the Travignolo Valley with the Biois Valley, this pass is an ideal destination for those seeking mountain holidays immersed in nature, trekking, and alpine culture.
In summer, Passo di Valles is a starting point for unforgettable hikes to Rifugio Mulaz, Col Margherita, Rifugio Laresei, and Cima Bocche, offering breathtaking views of the Marmolada, Pale di San Martino, Civetta, Pelmo, and Lagorai. The nearby Paneveggio Park, with its red spruce forest and free-roaming deer, is perfect for nature walks and outdoor photography.
In winter, the pass becomes a paradise for skiers and snowshoers, thanks to the famous Pista degli Innamorati, a scenic 11 km slope connecting Col Margherita to Falcade, part of the Dolomiti Superski area. The Capanna Passo Valles Refuge, open year-round, is a landmark of alpine hospitality, hosting culinary events and promoting sustainability: it generates hydroelectric power and uses certified spring water.
Easily accessible from Predazzo, Falcade, and San Martino di Castrozza, Passo di Valles is also loved by cyclists and motorcyclists for its panoramic hairpin bends and gentle gradients.
