Discovering Passo Cinque Croci
Located at 2,016 meters above sea level, Passo Cinque Croci is a scenic alpine pass in eastern Trentino, nestled between Cima d’Asta and the Lagorai mountain range. Accessible on foot or by bike via Val Campelle from the southwest or Valle del Vanoi from the northeast, the pass is surrounded by pristine landscapes—perfect for those seeking an active holiday in nature.
Its name comes from the convergence of five historic alpine pastures (Valcion, Socede, Valsorda, Cengello, and Consèria), belonging to the municipalities of Pieve Tesino, Castello Tesino, Cinte Tesino, and Scurelle. The area is crisscrossed by hiking trails and MTB routes offering spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and the Lagorai alpine lakes.
Nearby, the Malga Consèria mountain hut serves as a rest stop and starting point for excursions to Cima Socede, the Lasteati Lakes, and World War I historical shelters, such as the Lieutenant Cecchin’s bivouac. The Monument to the Fallen of All Wars, located at 1,936 meters, adds a layer of historical reflection to the natural setting.
