Discovering Lago dei Caprioli

In Fazzon, Pellizzano in Val di Sole, nestled between the mountains, you’ll find the Deer’s Lake. This intriguing alpine lake, at about 1280 meters above sea level. It’s named after the famous animal, quite common throughout the Alps, which here reportedly finds a water source where, often during dawn and dusk, it gathers in herds to drink.

In reality, the lake is an artificial basin, but today it blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment. It’s a popular spot for a family day out, offering activities like picnics, walks, and outdoor excursions.

The lake can be reached easily by car, traveling about 6 km along an asphalt road starting from Pellizzano. Alternatively, you can get there on foot via the Sentiero degli Gnomi, a simple and charming trail that takes roughly 50 minutes. This path is decorated with wooden and stone sculptures inspired by forest gnomes

The route begins from the second bend on the road leading to Fazzon and Lago dei Caprioli, and from there, it continues to Malga Bassa and the Park Visitor Center.

This excursion offers a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, explore the wonders of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, and enjoy breathtaking landscapes and local traditions.
