Discovering San Felice

In the heart of the Upper Val di Non, at 1,265 meters above sea level, lies San Felice (BZ), a hamlet of the municipality of Senale-San Felice, surrounded by alpine landscapes of rare beauty. The village stretches across a sunny plateau, bordered by larch forests, meadows and panoramic trails leading to the Lake of Tret, Mount Luco (Laugen) and the Gampen Pass (Passo delle Palade).

A perfect destination for hikers and nature lovers, San Felice offers year-round outdoor experiences: in summer, visitors can swim in Lake Tret or enjoy local dishes at Waldruhe Mountain Hut, while in winter the snowy scenery invites peaceful walks and snowshoeing. Highlights include the Tret Waterfall, accessible via the Rio Novella trail, and the Widummoos biotope, a protected natural area rich in biodiversity.

The village retains an authentic atmosphere, with traditional farmsteads, a local inn with shop, the town hall, and the Church of Saint Felix of Nola, patron saint of domestic animals. Nearby, the hamlet of Senale is home to the renowned Sanctuary of Our Lady in the Forest, a pilgrimage site since the 15th century, known for its baroque altar and votive images.

Thanks to its strategic location, San Felice is also a starting point for mountain bike tours to the Mendola Pass, Mount Macaion, and surrounding alpine pastures. A destination for slow travel, untouched nature and spiritual discovery.
