Discovering Lisignago

Perched on a moraine terrace at around 600 meters above sea level, Lisignago is a historic hamlet in the municipality of Cembra Lisignago, nestled in the heart of the Cembra Valley—one of Trentino’s most distinctive wine-growing regions. The village overlooks the Avisio Valley, offering sweeping views, a mild climate, and a landscape shaped by centuries of agricultural tradition and porphyry quarrying.

Lisignago is part of the Trentino Wine and Flavours Route, and its terraced vineyards—supported by dry-stone walls—produce native varieties such as Schiava, Nosiola, and Müller Thurgau, celebrated annually during events like the Müller Thurgau Festival. Hiking trails wind through forests, vineyards, and alpine meadows, leading to the Lago Santo di Cembra, the Val Bona, and the Rifugio Maderlina, offering opportunities for trekking, cycling, and nature photography.

Culturally, Lisignago preserves valuable historical landmarks: the Church of San Biagio, documented since the 13th century and rebuilt in the 19th, with a Romanesque bell tower and twin-light windows; the Church of San Leonardo, perched on a porphyry cliff, featuring 15th-century frescoes and a 19th-century portico; and the Gothic granary of Pastrogn, a symbol of medieval rural life.
