Discovering Hafling

Located on a sunny plateau above the Merano basin, Avelengo (Hafling) is a charming gem in South Tyrol, renowned worldwide as the home of the Haflinger horses. These splendid, docile and resilient animals are perfect for peaceful horseback rides through alpine meadows and forests. Don’t miss the Knottnkino, a stunning natural viewpoint offering panoramic views over the Adige Valley. Nordic walking enthusiasts can explore the Walking Parc Verano‑Avelengo, with seven well-marked routes. On a mountain bike or a horse, every path becomes a unique experience.

In winter, Avelengo transforms into a welcoming resort for snow sports. Just above the village, the Merano 2000 ski area offers sunny slopes, modern lifts and many activities for the whole family. After a day outdoors, the warm South Tyrolean hospitality and traditional cuisine make every stay even more enjoyable.
