Weather Forcella Aurine: Weather forecast for Saturday
Discovering Forcella Aurine
Forcella Aurine, located at 1,299 meters between Gosaldo and Voltago Agordino, is a hidden gem in the Belluno Dolomites, offering nature, sport, and tranquility year-round.
In winter, Aurine Ski Dolomiti features 4 km of alpine ski slopes for all levels: the black Gemini, red Bepi, and blue Gardelina and Gemini Bassa, with artificial snow and night skiing on Fridays. The Gardenia slope is dedicated to evening ski touring, while snowshoeing trails wind through the woods of Monte Gardelon, Monte Poi, and the base of Monte Agner and Croda Granda. Cross-country skiers enjoy local loops and the scenic Val Bordina trail, some sections lit at night.
In summer, Forcella Aurine becomes a paradise for hikers and bikers, with trails leading to Rifugio Scarpa-Gurekian, Col di Luna, Sant’Andrea, and the educational Gioacchino Trail. The area is ideal for trekking, via ferrata, paragliding, and alpine relaxation.
Historically, the area was used for grazing and tourism began in 1921 with the first hotel by Giuseppe Bedont. A military road built during WWI still runs parallel to the provincial road. Today, the Church of the Blessed Virgin of the Snow and the Ghegy bar-restaurant offer hospitality, events, and e-bike rentals.
Founded in 1965 by ski champion Marcello De Dorigo, Forcella Aurine is now supported by local entrepreneurs promoting sustainable tourism.
