Discovering Taio
Located in the heart of the Val di Non, Taio is a charming 16th-17th century village, nestled among apple orchards and characterized by rustic and noble houses and wooden bridges. Among its main historical monuments are Castel Bragher, the Torre della Pece, the Hermitage of St. Giustina, the Church of San Vittore, and the Church of Madonna del Rosario, while the Father Eusebio Chini Museum showcases the life and work of this notable local missionary and scholar.
From a natural perspective, Taio offers scenic landscapes and trails through forests, orchards, and rocky formations with fresh spring water streams. The nearby Lake of St. Giustina, one of Europe’s largest artificial reservoirs, allows for canoeing and sport fishing, and during low water levels, visitors can admire the remains of the old Roman bridge and historic farmhouses. A village that perfectly combines history, nature, and tradition, ideal for an authentic visit in the Val di Non.
