Discovering Tisens
Tesimo is a charming village in South Tyrol, located on a panoramic sunny plateau above the Adige Valley, within the Merano and surroundings tourist area. Surrounded by orchards, centuries-old chestnut groves, and historic castles, Tesimo is the perfect destination for those seeking a holiday filled with tranquillity, nature, and Alpine tradition. Here, the landscape blends harmoniously with the local culture, offering moments of pure relaxation among Dolomite panoramas and typical regional products to discover.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find in Tesimo an extensive network of hiking trails winding through the Dolomites, with routes for all levels—from easy walks on flat paths to more demanding high-altitude treks. Particularly appreciated are the theme trails of the Tesimo-Prissiano holiday area, such as the International Felt Art Trail and the Vorbichl nature trail, both suitable for families with children.
From a cultural point of view, Tesimo and its surroundings preserve a rich historical heritage. Nearby are six castles, including the prominent Castel Katzenzungen, home to the "Versoaln", the oldest and largest grapevine in the world. Also worth a visit is the small church of Sant’Ippolito, built on one of the most important prehistoric settlements in South Tyrol.
