Discovering Dro

Nestled in the scenic Sarca Valley, north of Lake Garda and at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, Dro is one of the oldest communities in Trentino. Its territory is dominated by the spectacular Marocche di Dro, the largest glacial landslide in the Alpine arc, now protected as a nature reserve and part of the Sarca River Park.

Dro is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts: sport climbing on friction slabs like the famous Via dei Ciclamini, panoramic trekking through canyons and forests, and MTB trails winding between Lake Cavedine, the Roman bridge of Ceniga, and Ballino Pass. The Sarca River Park offers routes immersed in rich biodiversity, featuring gorges, lakes, and Mediterranean landscapes.

Culture plays a central role: Centrale Fies, a former hydroelectric plant from 1909, is now one of Italy’s most innovative art production centers, hosting performing arts festivals, artist residencies, and contemporary installations that attract creatives from around the world. Dro also celebrates its agricultural heritage with traditional events like the Grape Festival, showcasing local specialties such as Nosiola wine and extra virgin olive oil.
