Discovering Postal
Located at 270 meters above sea level in the sunny Etschtal (Val d’Adige), just south of Meran (Merano), the village of Postal is a small gem of South Tyrol that blends tradition, landscape, and authentic hospitality. Surrounded by orchards and vineyards, Postal offers a peaceful atmosphere and direct access to the natural and cultural richness of the region.
Among its most iconic landmarks is the Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta, a historic building that reflects centuries of local spirituality. Also of particular interest is the Church of the Three Wise Men, with the adjoining Church of the Holy Cross, which houses a rare sacred artwork by the painter Dill Riemenschneider, a unique example of religious art in South Tyrol.
A must-see is the modern Verano Cable Car, which connects Postal to the green plateau of the Tschögglberg (Monzoccolo) at 1,200 meters.
For those who enjoy walking, the Marlengo Waalweg Trail is a gentle and scenic route that winds through orchards, vineyards, and forests—perfect for families with children. Postal is also home to the only South Tyrolean Museum of Wildlife, dedicated to rare species of birds and mammals.
Thanks to its strategic location just minutes from Meran and Bozen (Bolzano), Postal is ideal for day trips, cultural visits, and food and wine tours. It is a year-round destination where unspoiled nature, sacred art, and alpine hospitality come together in a truly authentic and rejuvenating experience.
