Discovering Palù del Fersina

The village of Palù, the highest in the Fersina Valley, is nestled among the western foothills of the Lagorai Mountains, offering breathtaking landscapes and a unique atmosphere blending history and nature. Founded over 700 years ago by Bavarian settlers, Palù still preserves the Mòcheno language, spoken and written by the local community. At the heart of the village’s cultural life is the Mòcheno Cultural Institute, a provincial body dedicated to the research and promotion of the Mòcheno language and local culture. Among the most interesting natural and historical attractions are the ancient Gruab va Hardimbl mine, a testimony to the local mining heritage, and the stunning Lake Erdemolo/Sea va Hardimbl, situated at 2,000 meters above sea level, accessible via a scenic alpine hike.
