Discovering Nanno
Nanno, a small and ancient village, is a hamlet of the municipality of Ville d’Anaunia that preserves historical treasures and breathtaking landscapes in the enchanting Val di Non. The main attraction is Castel Nanno, an ancient medieval tower transformed into a splendid Renaissance residence, located in a panoramic position in the center of the Val di Non. Castel Nanno is a treasure chest of fascinating stories and legends. The lovers Melisenda and Ludovico, or the witches burned alive, are some of the striking tales that form the backdrop of a castle that has withstood the test of time. The first mention of the manor dates back to 1264, and today it is open to visitors on weekends with guided tours that recount its captivating legends.
The village offers beautiful walks among the apple orchards, a distinctive feature of the Val di Non, with flat and mid-level trails offering views of orchards, numerous castles, and the peaks of the Brenta Dolomites and the Maddalene. From the parking area, you can walk through the orchards to reach the castle, enjoying unique panoramas.
