Discovering Fierozzo

Fierozzo, nestled in the enchanting Valle dei Mòcheni in Trentino, is located at over 1,200 meters above sea level on the left side of the valley. The village is made up of the hamlets of San Francesco (Auservlarotz) and San Felice (Indervlarotz), surrounded by larch forests, historic farmsteads, and flower-filled meadows.

This locality is part of the Mòcheno linguistic minority, of Bavarian origin, which has preserved its language, customs, and traditional architecture over the centuries. The Filzerhof Farmstead, now an Ethnographic Museum, is one of Fierozzo’s cultural landmarks: a perfectly preserved rural house that tells the story of daily life, agricultural work, and the valley’s traditions. From here, scenic trails lead to the Prati Imperiali, Monte Gronlàit, and the wild Valcava, offering breathtaking views and protected natural landscapes.

In winter, Fierozzo is ideal for snowshoeing and ski mountaineering, while in spring and summer it comes alive with cultural events, traditional festivals, and language workshops dedicated to the Mòcheno language. Not to be missed is the Sog van Rindel, an ancient Venetian sawmill, and the local inns serving typical Trentino dishes and alpine dairy products.

Fierozzo is the perfect destination for those seeking an authentic experience of the Trentino Dolomites, where natural beauty, historical identity, and alpine hospitality come together in one of the region’s most fascinating and lesser-known valleys.
