Discovering Cunevo

In the heart of Val di Non, in Trentino, lies Cunevo, a hamlet of the municipality of Contà, nestled in a scenic agricultural and mountainous landscape. Located at around 600 meters above sea level, the village is surrounded by apple orchards, pine forests, and the slopes of Monte Corno, offering an ideal setting for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet.

Cunevo is known for its agricultural tradition, with the presence of Melinda consortium warehouses, a symbol of Trentino’s apple production. The village preserves its historical soul, with stone buildings and the Church of the Redeemer, built in the 19th century. Particularly noteworthy is the Church of San Lorenzo, in Gothic style, which houses frescoes attributed to Giovanni Baschenis.

Nearby are the ruins of Castel Corona, embedded in the rock, and Castel La Santa, hidden among the woods. Cunevo is a starting point for hikes along the Margherita Trail, which follows an ancient irrigation canal, and for routes leading to Lake Tovel, the Glare rock formations, and the Terres pedestrian tunnel.
