Discovering Castello Tesino

Located at an altitude of 940 meters, Castello Tesino is one of the most charming villages of the Tesino Plateau, nestled in the tranquility of the Dolomites and surrounded by the forests of the Lagorai range.

Among its main attractions are the Castello Tesino Caves, one of the largest karst complexes in Trentino, accessible with a guide and perfect for geology and adventure enthusiasts. The Museo Per Via, dedicated to the history of Tesino’s itinerant merchants, elegantly showcases the valley’s commercial and artistic heritage. Just a short walk from the center, the Permanent Center for Alpine Flora and Fauna offers an educational trail immersed in local biodiversity, ideal for families and curious visitors.

For astronomy lovers, the Celado Observatory is a must-see: here, you can gaze at the stars in an unspoiled natural setting. In winter, the nearby Lagorai – Passo Brocon ski area offers slopes and courses for all levels, while in summer the region becomes a paradise for trekking, mountain biking, and scenic walks.

The village also preserves historical landmarks such as the Church of San Martino, dating back to the 15th century, and the Casa De Gasperi Museum, dedicated to the renowned Italian statesman born in the area. The Garden of Europe, a cultural and naturalistic project, celebrates European identity through alpine flora and historical memory.
