Discovering Val Formiga Pass

The Val Formiga Pass, located in the municipality of Stenico, is a little-known but highly scenic hiking destination nestled in the untouched landscapes of the Giudicarie Esteriori, within the boundaries of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.

Positioned between the slopes of Monte Valandro and Monte Brento, the pass is accessible via well-marked trails starting from Val d’Algone, Villa Banale, or directly from Stenico, winding through spruce forests, alpine meadows, and crystal-clear streams.

Along the way, hikers encounter historic alpine huts such as Malga Valandro, and panoramic viewpoints offering stunning vistas of the Brenta Dolomites, the Adamello Group, and the Giudicarie Valley.
