Discovering Bieno

Located at an altitude of 815 meters in the heart of eastern Valsugana, Bieno is a small Trentino village that enchants visitors with its authenticity and alpine landscape. It has just over 400 inhabitants.

The village lies at the foot of the Lagorai mountain range. Hiking trails that start from Bieno wind through ancient forests and offer breathtaking views of the Dolomites and surrounding valleys. Among the most scenic routes is the Castelloni di San Marco Trail, a spectacular itinerary through canyons and rocky formations. For adventure lovers, the Val di Scala via ferrata is one of the most popular in the area, featuring thrilling panoramas and technical sections immersed in greenery.

The historic center preserves the charm of the past: stone rural houses, votive frescoes, historic fountains, and ancient churches tell the story of mountain life and local spirituality. The Church of San Biagio, dating back to the 15th century, is a jewel of Trentino sacred art, with decorations and architecture that reflect popular devotion.

Just a few kilometers away, the Val di Sella offers a unique experience where nature and art meet, thanks to the Arte Sella project, where artistic installations harmoniously interact with the alpine landscape.

Bieno is also synonymous with Trentino cuisine: local products, mountain huts, and farm stays offer authentic flavors, from alpine cheeses to polenta with mushrooms, all within a context of slow and sustainable tourism.
