Discovering Telve di Sopra

Telve di Sopra, nestled in the Valsugana region of Trentino at an altitude of 650 meters, is surrounded by the forests of the Lagorai and serves as an ideal starting point for excursions to Val Calamento, one of the wildest and most untouched valleys in Trentino—and along the Sentiero della Pace, a historical and naturalistic trail that crosses symbolic sites of World War I. The paths leading to Val d’Ezze and Val di Fregio offer immersive experiences in nature, perfect for trekking, mountain biking, or leisurely walks. The Via Crucis trail, which ascends to Colle di San Pietro, offers moments of spirituality and breathtaking views.

The village preserves traces of a fascinating medieval past, with the ruins of the castles of Arnana, Castellalto, and San Pietro bearing witness to the strategic importance of the area. Nearby stands the majestic Castel Telvana, overlooking the valley and telling centuries of history. The small Church of San Giovanni del Sassetto, nestled in greenery, is an architectural gem that invites reflection. The Ethnographic Museum of Telve di Sopra showcases objects from rural life and testimonies of local traditions, offering an authentic glimpse into Alpine culture.

In the surrounding area, visitors can easily reach Passo Manghen, Lake Erdemolo, Rifugio Sette Selle, and Borgo Valsugana, with its historic center developed along the river.
