Weather Lake Lases: Weather forecast for Thursday
Discovering Lake Lases
Nestled in the heart of the Val di Cembra, Lake Lases is a small glacial lake located between Mount Gorsa and Mount Serra, in the municipality of Lona-Lases. Measuring about 700 meters in length and reaching depths of up to 31 meters, it was formed by a moraine dam during the last glaciation. Today, it is protected as a provincial biotope, thanks to its rich biodiversity of plant and animal species.
Its clear, fish-rich waters make it a popular destination for sport fishing, with species such as whitefish, perch, and pike. The grassy shores offer peaceful spots for sunbathing and relaxation, while the 4.6 km loop trail around the lake is ideal for easy, scenic hikes. Along the path, information panels provide insights into the area's geology, flora, and fauna.
Just a short distance away lies the enchanting Val Fredda, home to the unique “buse del giaz”—natural cavities that remain icy cold even in summer due to specific air currents. Once used as natural refrigerators, these formations are now part of a botanical and geological trail.
Easily accessible from Trento and the towns of the Val di Fiemme, Lake Lases is a perfect destination for those seeking nature, hiking, fishing, and sustainable tourism in one of the most authentic corners of eastern Trentino.
